skona hem I can't thank you all enough for your thoughtful advice on changing up my more formal dining room. We use it every day, so I am yearning for a little more casual feel. You left so many good comments....some of your great advice included upholstered/slip covered or painted chairs, and mixing in modern art and fresh accessories. Monika from Splendid Willow even sent me this image which I love. While this dining room contains many traditional elements, it has a very fresh feel. And look! It has just the things you all recommended: slip covered chairs and a fresh grouping of artwork and accessories. See....you all are downright decor geniuses and should be charging a lot of coin for your advice...
I really want to change my dining room up to be more casual, like this one. I'd mix up the chairs a little more...
My dining room table is very much like this one, and my chairs are exactly like these. I'm dying to break out of my 'too traditional' mold. I think my style has evolved from formal to more relaxed. Or would that be 'devolved'....? I need some serious advice here....should I trade out my traditional pieces for a more casual mix? And here's the biggie: will I regret it later? Does anyone else out there have these yearnings?
