The BEST Mulled Cider

What do you do when you have a bunch of people coming over for a Trick or Treating party following two days of widespread power outages? And stores, businesses, gas stations are still waiting to reopen after a big storm? Browse pinterest for some last minute recipes, of course! I was hoping to find a recipe for hot mulled cider (a favorite of mine for those cold Fall evenings) that I could make for a crowd using items I already had on hand. And guess what?! I found one!

I found the original recipe here, but had to tweak it a bit to make it work with what I already had at home. I'm sure that recipe is amazing, but let me tell you, this easy, no-fuss cider I made totally rocked. It's so ridiculously easy that absolutely no pictures are needed, but a post is a lot more fun (and yum-inducing) when photos are involved.: ) So. here's what you need:

One gallon of Apple Cider One whole orange, cut in half 1/2 cup of brown sugar 3 tsp. of Pumpkin Pie Spice

1. Pour the cider in your crockpot. Ignore the exposed outlet. Yes, that's been there for oh, um…at least 8 months. Yuk, I hate details.

2. Mix in 1/2 cup of brown sugar.

3. Add 3 tsp. of pumpkin pie seasoning and mix well. The spice won't immediately mix in, but will eventually as the cider warms up.

4. Cut your orange in half and place it cut side down in the cider. Keep the orange in the entire time.

5. Heat it on high for 2 hours, or on Low for 4-6 hours.

Serve nice and hot with gingersnaps for dunking.; ) Enjoy! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are over-the-moon-excited to be posting over at I Heart Naptime today! Head over there to see a super fun Christmas project we did using slices of wood. It turned out sooo cute!

Happy weekend!
